My name is Max S. Haberman of Chapel Hill East, and I would do great work on the Chapel Hill East Board of Trustees. I am diligent, goal-oriented, focused, detailed, honest, and I always listen to others to find the best results for everyone. I am also frugal, becoming a homeowner at a young age, and I am always looking for ways to save money while still receiving great services.
I have been an owner at Chapel Hill East for nearly two years now. While it has mostly been wonderful, I have had some concerns about the budget, specifically about extra payments. As a member of the board, I want to make sure there is clear information on all extra fees and payments, we know the reasons for all construction being done, and we know the costs of work done before we are charged. There is nothing wrong with paying extra for good service, but I want to make sure the services we are purchasing are worth purchasing, and also make sure we are not paying more than we have to. It may be that these services are crucial and we are paying the right amount, but the information we have been given has been unclear. I want to make sure everyone is happy to pay for the services we need, without the need for sudden, unexpected payments.
Like this webpage, I am not flashy, but I focus on content and diligence. As a member of the Board of Trustees, I will focus on the work that needs to be done instead of sentiments. When I am assigned a project, it becomes my passion, and I put my all into making sure it is completed with excellence.
I encourage you to vote for me. I look forward to serving this community, and ensuring the best living experience for all residents of Chapel Hill East!
As a member of the board, here are my values and goals:
Lower debt: Ensure we do not take on more loans than are necessary.
Balanced budget: Ensure that we can pay for the goods and services we need without needing sudden, massive jumps in monthly and supplemental fees. We need goods and services to keep Chapel Hill East running, but we should plan for those needs ahead of time, and plan the budget so sudden fees are the exception, not the rule.
I have already been in contact with Patrick Holland of Brigs to learn more about the budget and the expenses, and I have also been reviewing the projected budgets for 2023 (this year) and 2024 (next year).
Communication: There should be better communication about updates to Chapel Hill East. There have been lots of new construction projects, but with little information available on how they improve the building. We should know what is being done, how it will help, and how much it will cost before we get the bill, not after the work is already done.
I would also like to set up a communication portal where we can easily communicate with each other and discuss the building. It can be used to raise issues, ask questions, or just talk with other residents. I have researched some options, which you can learn about on this page.
I am currently in communcation with Patrick about the voting process, and I will update this section when I have more information.
